Cale Makar to Miss Avalanche Game for Birth of Twins

Colorado Springs Pueblo, CO, October 13, 2026 —

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar will not play in an upcoming game against the Dallas Stars in Dallas, according to team reporting. The absence is due to Makar returning home for the imminent birth of his twins.

The team has not provided a specific timeline for Makar’s return to play, and it remains unclear if his absence will extend beyond the single scheduled game against the Stars. The focus for Makar is currently on his family’s personal milestone.

Makar, a key player for the Avalanche, is widely recognized for his contributions to the team’s defense and offensive play. His departure from the lineup for personal reasons is a significant, albeit temporary, shift for the team’s strategic considerations during the game against Dallas.

The team is expected to adjust its defensive pairings and strategy to compensate for the absence of one of its star players. Further updates regarding Makar’s status and availability are anticipated as the situation evolves.
