The problem: a feed full of slop
LinkedIn has become the showcase for what the internet now calls AI slop: polished, generic, emoji-bulleted posts that read as if a language model wrote them, because one did. The extension is available today on the Chrome Web Store and on Firefox Add-ons. It runs only on linkedin.com and stores nothing but its own settings in the browser.
How the score works
Slop’o’Meter returns a humanness score from 0 (unmistakably AI slop) to 100 (unmistakably a human typed this), a band label, a one-sentence verdict and a list of reasons. The engine is tuned against clusters of hard tells rather than single words, and it rewards specific signals of human authorship: a concrete number, a named person, a real anecdote, an opinion someone could disagree with.
The score is a probability signal, not proof of authorship. Slop’o’Meter is built to keep a human in the loop for any decision that affects a person, and every surface of the product says so.
